DESCRIPTION:When someone talks about the gender spectrum\, or gender identity we as health care individuals would like to feel comfortable navigating these waters. Sometimes healthcare equity\, and HIV prevention may start to go to the way side. We hope to delve into critical concepts related to gender diversity\, and the unique health disparities experienced by individuals across the gender spectrum. Essential communication skills are important to create inclusive environments in healthcare settings and enhance their ability to address the diverse needs of patients. So dive in as we explore the gender spectrum with Pride. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:\n1. Discern difference between gender spectrum and sexual orientation\n2. Identify health disparities across the gender spectrum\n3. Develop communication skills to create an inclusive environment\n4. Recognize commonly used medications for HIV and HIV prevention \nSPEAKER\nRyan is the President and Co-Founder of Pearly White Prevention\, LLC. He consults in dental offices to help empower the dentist/hygiene relationship and coaches hygienists that want to change the way they deliver care. He has a dual roll at Morning Glory Dental private practice. He works as a clinical hygienist and streamlines hygiene as the Dental Hygiene Manager. In 2022\, He was the honored recipient of the “Change Maker in Dentistry\,” by OnDiem. He also developed the first “Rutar Toothbrush Meditation\nTechnique” to combine health of mind and mouth. He also served on the Editorial Advisory Board for RDH Magazine and chaired the diversity committee for ADHA. Ryan empowers dental professionals to create change and how they can contribute to their practice. He is focused on mental health and the LGBTQ+ community.
