She is a Kootenay girl at heart\, growing up in Cranbrook\, BC\, but she calls Kelowna\, BC her home. She has a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from the University of Calgary\, where she gained a love of research and sustainability. She has travelled as a dental hygienist for mission trips in Nepal and Guatemala. These trips instilled a passion for education and preventative healthcare\, which led to her Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Edinburgh. She has spent ten years volunteering with JCI in many aspects and held various board positions. In 2017 she was awarded the national effective speaking title and went on to represent Canada in an international speaking competition. In her free time\, she loves to read\, to cook\, and to travel. \n \nMartha Szczepulski\, BDSc(DH)\, DHP\, PID\nDental Hygienist and Professional Educator \nMartha is a passionate dental hygienist who has also established herself as a distinguished educator and speaker in the field. Working as a dental hygienist since 2005\, her professional journey has been enriched by her experiences in general and community dental practices\, dental hygiene education\, and mobile dental hygiene in long-term care settings. \nCurrently\, she holds the position of Professional Education Leader at Oral Science.
