BCDHA Board of Director Elections (Greater Vancouver)

I feel that I am at a point in my career where I would like to have the opportunity to give back to our profession.

I graduated in 1993 from VCC and have worked since in various practice settings but mainly in periodontal offices. I also taught part-time for 5 years in the UFV Dental Hygiene program when it was running. I briefly supervised a few UBC clinics that were held in New Westminster at Douglas College. Working with the students and watching them develop clinical and communication skills was very fulfilling. I felt that I was helping them succeed in their chosen field just as I had been supported and guided during my time at VCC.

During my career, I have had so much satisfaction and I still enjoy the interaction with my patients and helping them generate health and wellness. It’s been a great choice for me.

By joining the BCDHA Board, I hope to contribute to the Association and also to support and promote the dental hygiene profession itself and its members. I truly appreciate all that I have gained from being a dental hygienist and I sincerely hope to help the profession take positive, forward motion. Sitting on the Board may be an opportunity for me to contribute what I have learned from my years of experience and to give back to the profession and to the upcoming dental hygienists. Thank you.
