Leta graduated from the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene program in 1994 after which she moved to Chilliwack, BC. She obtained a BC Provincial Instructor Diploma in 2010, completed the Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities program through the University of Washington in 2012, and Master of Education in Post-Secondary Educational Leadership at Simon Fraser University in 2013. Leta is passionate about life-long learning and serving the profession at the provincial, national, and international levels.
Leta has a broad and varied range of experience including clinical practice, dental public health, dental hygiene education and administration at UFV and Camosun College. She is devoted to the continuous development of dental hygiene education in both breadth and quality to meet the dynamic needs of an increasingly diverse population. She also strives to increase public awareness of the integral role dental hygienists play in improving oral and systemic health and increasing access to preventive dental care.
Leta is committed to supporting dental hygienists in the Upper Fraser Valley and throughout the province while work continues to address issues relevant to the profession and its member-owners.
