Applications are now being accepted for positions on the BCDHA Board of Directors. If you are passionate about advocating for dental hygienists and contributing to the future of the profession, we encourage you to consider putting your name forward.
Open Positions
- Director-at-Large — Eligible registrants residing in British Columbia
- Interior Director — Eligible registrants living or working in the Interior (Thompson Okanagan & Kootenays)
- Vancouver Island Director — Eligible registrants living or working on Vancouver Island (Islands and Sunshine Coast)
What Board Service Involves
Serving on the Board comes with important responsibilities and a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the profession.
Board Directors Are Expected To:
- Act in the best interests of the Association and the profession
- Learn and follow Board policies and procedures
- Contribute innovative ideas and strategic thinking
- Respect the distinction between Board and Executive Director roles
- Participate constructively in deliberations while respecting differing viewpoints
- Honour Board decisions once made
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound, objective judgement
- Uphold professional conduct and decorum in all Board matters
- Take part in leadership opportunities, including committee work
- Prepare for and attend four two-day Board meetings per year, with additional special meetings as needed
- Commit to a three-year term of office
Application deadline: 11:59 p.m. on April 3, 2026.
Eligibility: All active full or life members are eligible for nomination.
Please note that pending bylaw amendments may prohibit individuals from serving in this position if, currently or within the past three years, they were employed by or served as a director of any oral health regulatory college or any oral health professional association.
