In response to proposed bylaw changes from the British Columbia of Oral Health Professionals, the BCDHA board of directors has issued the following statement.
BCDHA firmly upholds the value of advanced education and the professional opportunities it provides. The Association maintains that dental hygienists are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for safe, effective and independent practice. We will continue to advocate for equity amongst all oral health professionals and work to ensure that dental hygienists are recognized, respected, and valued as essential members of the oral health care team.
