Additional feedback builds on our earlier submission to support clear, inclusive bylaw development
BCDHA has submitted formal feedback to the BCCOHP on Parts 1, 13, and 14 of the proposed bylaws. This follows our initial feedback on the earlier sections released for comment.
Our review focused on ensuring these sections accurately reflect the realities of dental hygiene practice and continue to support safe, accessible oral health care for British Columbians. One of the key issues we addressed was the proposed definition of “facility,” which as written could limit where dental hygiene services may be provided under deep sedation or general anesthesia.
We also requested clarification on the funding model for the mandated support program under Part 13 and expressed support for the accreditation framework in Part 14, which does not restrict ownership by health profession.
