 

In Real Talk Part One, participants will be able to review the language around domestic abuse, and increase their understanding of the impact of domestic abuse and coercive control for a person experiencing an abusive relationship. Participants will increase their ability to recognize domestic abuse in both their personal and professionals contexts.
Presenter / Speaker Bio
Carolyn Mitchell is the Innovation coordinator with Sagesse, an organization with 35 years of experience of empowering individuals, organizations, and communities to disrupt structures of domestic abuse. For the past five years at Sagesse, she has facilitated numerous conversations around domestic abuse, where she enjoys connecting with people across the province and reducing the stigma around domestic abuse through education. Carolyn intentionally curates environments where participants will feel comfortable leaning into discomfort and facing uncomfortable conversations about domestic abuse. Through Real Talk, she encourages people in communities to get real by building their understanding of domestic abuse and increasing their confidence to respond to disclosures.
