Life Membership

Life membership is awarded by the Board of Directors to a full member who has made an outstanding contribution to the dental hygiene profession and to BCDHA. Life members are exempt from paying the BCDHA portion of CDHA/BCDHA membership dues and will remain a BCDHA Life Member for life or until such time as they wish to relinquish membership. Life members are entitled to receive all other benefits of membership as determined by the Board of Directors and within the parameters set out in the Association’s Bylaws.

Nominations are now being accepted for the Life Membership. Nominees must be a full member of BCDHA and meet the following criteria:

• Be a current dental hygienist licensee with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals;
• Be a current Full Member of BCDHA as defined by Association Bylaws;
• Held continuous membership in BCDHA for at least 15 years.
• Been involved in an official capacity with BCDHA for a minimum of 10 years;
• Made a significant contribution to the growth and achievement of BCDHA and the dental hygiene profession.
• Be nominated by three Full or Life Members of BCDHA.

Nominations for Life Membership will be accepted until May 15, 2026. The nomination form below must be completed by three (3) Full or Life Members and submitted to BCDHA@bcdha.com by the deadline for consideration. Note that current Board Directors and BCDHA staff cannot be nominated or nominate a member for this award. Nomination does not assure that Life Membership will be granted.
