SARA MASIUK
Sara Masiuk
Interior Director
From the traditional, unceded territory of the Syilx, Secwépemc, and Nlaka’pamux peoples, I am honoured to serve as your Interior Board Director. My passion for dental hygiene has driven my career since 2007. Originally from Ontario, I began my journey as a dental hygienist after graduating from Fanshawe College’s Dental Hygiene program. Shortly after, I advanced my educational credentials by completing the Restorative Dental Hygiene program at George Brown College.
As an Independent Dental Hygienist, I led a private dental hygiene clinic and a Long-Term Care (LTC) Mobile Clinic serving the Georgian Bay/Grey Bruce area. Seeking further growth, I earned an Allied Health Sciences Degree (Hons.) from Ontario Tech University, marking my transition from clinical practice to dental hygiene education. I taught at colleges in Toronto and Barrie, as well as remotely for programs in Atlantic Canada and British Columbia. These experiences deepened my passion for lifelong learning, culminating in my 2024 graduation from Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Master of Education program. I currently own an independent dental hygiene practice in Kelowna, BC.
As an active BCDHA member, educator, and dental hygiene practitioner, I embrace the diverse roles our profession entails. These opportunities have shaped me into a leader, collaborator, and advocate for the advancement of dental hygiene. I am committed to fostering open communication, compassion, and transparency in representing our members. As your Interior Board Director, my priority is to listen to your ideas, champion your values, and work collaboratively with the BCDHA board to strengthen our profession. Together, we can build a brighter future for dental hygiene. I am honoured to serve and look forward to being your voice for positive change.
