BCDHA & BCDA Launch Daily Oral Care for Seniors by Family Members Social Media Video Series

The BC Dental Hygienists’ Association (BCDHA) and BC Dental Association (BCDA) have joined forces to co-produce a new series of short, social media-friendly videos. The videos aim to help improve the daily oral health of seniors living in assisted and independent settings by de-mystifying and giving confidence to family members in helping their loved ones with daily tasks such as brushing, flossing, and using interdental tools.

Message from the B.C. Seniors Advocate

We’re proud to share this message from the B.C.’s Seniors Advocate, highlighting the challenges facing older adults and the role of oral health in supporting their well-being. This endorsement underscores the contribution dental hygienists and oral health professionals make in enhancing the quality of life for seniors in BC.

Transforming Senior Oral Care: Video Series

Produced with the generous support of the BC Ministry of Health, both organizations are introducing the videos to oral health care professionals during PDC, with a planned province-wide public digital and social media launch in June, coinciding with Seniors’ Week. BC’s Seniors Advocate, Mr. Dan Levitt, is endorsing the videos, further amplifying the launch to his audience base.
