BCDHA is now accepting nominations for its annual awards — an opportunity to recognize the individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the profession and to the Association.
These awards celebrate leadership, innovation, mentorship, and long-standing service within the dental hygiene community. If you know someone deserving of recognition, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
Award Categories
Life Membership
Life Membership is awarded by the Board of Directors to a full member who has made an outstanding contribution to the dental hygiene profession and to BCDHA. Life Members are exempt from paying the BCDHA portion of CDHA/BCDHA membership dues and continue to receive all other benefits of membership as determined by the Board and the Association’s Bylaws.
Dianne Gallagher Inspiration Award
Created in honour of Dianne Gallagher, this award recognizes a dental hygienist who, through determination and achievement, has inspired others to support and advance the dental hygiene profession. Dianne’s legacy as an educator, mentor, and role model continues through this award.
Barbara J. Heisterman Award
The Barbara J. Heisterman Award for Outstanding Innovation and Commitment to Care honours a dental hygienist whose work reflects courage, advocacy, mentorship, and a strong commitment to improving access to dental hygiene care.
